P05 L&D as a Business Enabler: Aligning Learning Strategy with Business Goals
8:30 AM - 4:00 PM ET
Sunday, November 6
Room: Coronado BC
Learning leaders often struggle to identify correlation (or causation) between training programs and business outcomes. As an enabler of business strategy, L&D leadership must learn their business, deeply understand the strategy, and configure L&D services to support it.
The relatively new practice of revenue enablement can serve as a blueprint for this alignment. Revenue enablement offers the perfect storm for learning leaders eager to strengthen the intersection between learning and business strategies.
This full-day workshop begins by exploring what revenue enablement is, how it’s being used, and what it can teach us about using business metrics in the design of training and performance support programs. As the day progresses, we’ll examine how to shift an L&D team to think and perform as an enabler of business strategy. You’ll learn how to monitor key business indicators in real time to recommend, design, and deliver both tactical and strategic adjustments in how employees are trained and supported at work. Throughout, you’ll explore various tools and approaches that can be employed in your organization to support new ways of working within the business not outside of it. Finally, we’ll break down the various ways to better communicate results that not only show alignment to key metrics but help to demonstrate L&D’s value as a true business partner.
In this workshop, you will learn:
- How to determine which key performance indicators are most important to a business and link them to work tasks
- How to embed learning and enablement into your business strategy
- How to transform your L&D department philosophy toward that of a revenue enablement team
- Strategies for monitoring and measuring key performance indicators across the enterprise
- Approaches to communicate L&D achievements that speak to the business
