905 Learn to Evaluate: Measuring Learning’s Impact in the Modern Workplace

8:00 AM - 9:00 AM ET
Wednesday, November 9

Tracks: Strategies

Learning and development seems to have been seeking the holy grail of learning measurement for decades. Measurement systems have developed, and iterations of reaction forms and happy sheets remain commonplace. But as learning design and delivery have become more sophisticated and nuanced, learning leaders need a way to evaluate that supports the modern demands for learning and performance data. With the pandemic impacting design and delivery during lockdown and beyond, L&D needs to move evaluation practice along to reflect the current and future demands for effective evaluation.

In this session we will look at the data that is available to you in the learning profession and outline seven principles that need to be adopted within evaluation practice. Taking principles from the marketing industry, you’ll have the opportunity to consider your evaluation philosophy and ways you can develop your (and your teams’) practice.

In this session, you will learn:

  • The 7 principles of measuring learning effectiveness
  • Why Outcome and Impact matter more than Input and Output
  • How you can develop your measurement practice with a roadmap of data capture
