Michael Farris

Michael Farris Jr. serves as senior director of diversity and inclusion with YMCA of the USA’s Diversity, Inclusion, Global and Multicultural Development team, endeavoring to help YMCA of the USA and local YMCAs become anti-racist, multicultural organizations advancing equity and inclusion. Michael also delivers trainings, capacity building, executive coaching, and customized technical support aimed at helping YMCAs operate as safe, relevant, and sustainable centers of community. A social justice warrior, activist, and strategic agitator, Michael is a senior executive with over 15 years of experience in nonprofit management, community development, strategic planning, and community organizing. He holds a B.S. in corporate fitness and wellness from Grand Valley State University and a M.S. in athletic and sport business administration from the University of Central Missouri.
