This session shares the story of how one L&D team came together during an unprecedented time, created a strategic solution, and revitalized the learning culture at Cisco. It started with leadership making the decision to invest in its employees—to set aside one day to focus on our people connecting and learning with each other.

We will share how we evolved a simple idea into an enterprise-wide learning solution at a time when traditional learning delivery was limited. This unique approach breaks the mold of a standard corporate classroom yet still leverages the technologies you have in place today. We’ll examine how any enterprise of any size can adopt the strategies we used to have measurable change to their learning culture. We will discuss the practical approaches we used to solve real challenges to the business and how we were able to measure the impact of our results.

Patrick Hutchinson is senior leader for the learning data, measurement & tools team as part of Cisco’s Learning & Careers organization. He has been in the L&D field for over 15 years and has held a variety of leadership roles in learning operations. He has a passion for technology and measurement. His certifications include: SCPM (Stanford), and Leader of Data Science (NC State).

John Mehalek is chief strategist in designing and delivering the Cisco Illuminate Program. At Cisco, John has designed and delivered several enterprise-wide learning initiatives within the new hire, leadership, teams, and well-being spaces. Prior to Cisco, John was a leadership consultant, coach, and trainer. His certifications include DiSC, EI, Situational Leadership, CPTM.
